Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Happy Easter edition of Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share what’s up in my life and the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.
Last week it was 80 degrees. Yesterday, it was 50 and we woke up this morning to greet 28 degrees.
Where did Spring go?
We had to cover a few plants in preparation for the cold snap. Hopefully, the buds will survive the cold. My poor hydrangeas!
I have a houseful of family this weekend 🙂 We have all been vaccinated and are feeling more at ease at getting together.
I made a big batch of everyone’s favorite Easter treat – Pastel Popcorn Cake to fuel a chilly, but sunny day of afternoon of kayaking. I had a few of the Energy Balls that I posted the recipe for a few weeks ago.
For the rest of the holiday weekend, I am just going to enjoy getting to hang out with family to celebrate Easter.
Do you like the flowers in the photo above? If you live in the Charlottesville, Va area you may want to check out, Spring Creek Blooms.
My daughter, Mandy’s friend Susanna started a cut flower farm on her parent’s land after working on other peoples farms for years. Mandy is a CSA member where she paid a sum at the beginning of the year and now until the fall she will get fresh flowers every week. The flowers in the photo are a part of her first batch.

Fun & Interesting
A fun read for all moms with daughters.
I remember when I was a teen in the early 1970’s when horoscopes were a huge thing. See what yours says for April.
Worth the 1-minute listen – This is so touching. Smile worthy !!! Two neighbors played a duet together through the walls of their apartment and the story behind it is so, so sweet. I recommend watching the minute long clip in its entirety. It is worth it!
What I Just Bought
I use my Pottery Barn water hyacinth round placemats year round. I found my set at a church rummage sale for a few dollars. Normally they are $ 16 a piece. Here is a knock-off for $ 5.00 a piece.
I need to use sunscreen everyday, I just ordered this so I can try out which formula works, feels and looks best on my skin.
Once the temps return to spring-like, I bought this dress in grey and this one in Fuschia to wear when I am out & about.
I also bought an Instant Pot. I have never used one before, but after reader, Mary S. told me how easy it was to make a batch of beans with no salt, she sold me on getting one. If you use an Instant Pot and have any tips on using it, please let me know.
I hope you have a very Happy Easter
