Style Scouting, Vol. 12

Welcome to this week’s Style Scouting, where I share random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me the past week.

4th of July picnic table set along a lake

Today is the kickoff that starts the summer season. Memorial Day weekend is here! After the last two months, I think everybody is on board to get outside and enjoy the fresh air.

Pink hydrangeas planted by a slat wall.

The past few days we have had nothing but rain. It was nice to see the sun finally come back out yesterday afternoon just in time for the weekend. I love what all the rain did to the hydrangeas I planted last summer in the front of my house. Seeing these in bloom is another sign that summer is almost here.

I also love…

This creative and unique garden walkway.

One bowl is all you need to make this chocolate treat.

I have a few old sewing patterns and am going to make some of these.

I love my grey hair, but I don’t like the fact that all eyebrow pencils sold are either too brown or black. I finally found two that are perfect. Love the names, Cool Helen and Warm Betty. I have both and mix them to get just the color I need.

Following the Spring 2020 One Room Challenge? I like what Jen is doing to her basement.

How did I not know that this pastime existed? Mind blown! I am now hooked on this method of travel that is taking me to faraway places.

I like her new kitchen light fixture, but I love the vase on the table. It is no longer sold. 🙁 I may just have to make one to resemble it.

Workout gear on floor of craft room I call my studioffice.

Over the past 2 months, the gym where I work out has been closed. I began working out at home and found a different online workout to do every week. My favorite one by far is a series called Coast to Coast With Jenny Ford on Amazon Prime. Each of the videos is taped in a different city or town. Jenny sets up outside with a gorgeous view behind her. Makes working out a visual experience. 🙂

I had to move some of my workout gear to my studioffice since the WiFi in the fitness room is not very good.

Looking for outdoor Christmas style lights for your home’s exterior? These lights stay up all year and you can change the colors for holidays, the season, or just on a whim.

My state of the world stress baking is behind me and I am back to my normal eating. I like to make soup from scratch so I know exactly what I am eating. Most of the soups are chunky, but this handy Immersion Blender whips them smooth while still in the pot. It is my favorite kitchen gadget.

This bathroom makeover. 🙂

I enjoyed seeing the Exterior AFTER photos of John and Sherry’s new home. It is really coming along.

I want to make these for Zoe. And one of these for me. Crafty, colorful and fun.

That about wraps up what I found interesting online this week. After I press publish on this post I am going into holiday weekend mode.

9400 white crosses at the Normandy American Cemetery.

Normally Memorial Day weekend is filled with picnics and parades, but this year it will be more reserved.

After taking a trip to the WWII landing beaches in Normandy France last fall, it really made me aware of the sacrifice so many gave for freedom.

Door-Decoration-Ideas-for-the-Fouth-of-July-and-Patriot-holidays - 3 American flags sticking out of a flat backed rattan hanging basket on the front door of a house.

In my previous house, I always hung up some red, white and blue on the front door in honor of all those that have served.

Long lake dock after getting stained

At the lake house, the dock has a flag blowing in the breeze… to always remember.
