Concrete can flake due to corrosion, impact and weathering. Fortunately, you don’t have to live with unsightly spalling concrete, or tear out a damaged patio and pour a new one.
To correct the situation, just re-surface it! Quikrete Re-Cap Concrete Resurfacer is a polymer-modified Portland cement product that’s specially designed for making thin layer repairs and restoring the appearance of concrete.
You can apply it on spalling concrete as thin as a sixteenth of an inch or as thick as one-half inch. Just thoroughly prepare the surface before using it.
Before applying Re-Cap to a slab, thoroughly pressure-wash the concrete to remove all dirt and oil. This ensures proper adhesion and maximum performance.
Mix Re-Cap with a mechanical mixer in a 5-gallon bucket before pouring it onto the dampened concrete surface.
Then use a squeegee to spread it out evenly over the slab at a uniform thickness. For patios, sidewalks and driveways, you’ll want to add a non-slip broom finish as the Re-Cap hardens.
