Simple DIY Moss Planter

Quick & easy DIY moss planters! I shared this super simple DIY on my Instagram stories last week & thought I should add it to the blog so you can find it anytime. These literally took me less than 5 minutes to make and bring the perfect cottage style touch to our home. Moss planters are perfect for any spot you want to add a touch of greenery, I added ours to the wardrobe in our library! Let’s get into the DIY …

1. Pick your pot

Pick any kind of pot you like in any size you like. Whether it’s new or old, I like to pick a pot that has character. The pot should be just as interesting to you as the plant is! I used these cute little pots from Elsie Green here. You can see a huge selection of pots I love [HERE] as well.

2. Fill it up

Fill your pots with a filler whether its rocks, foam, news paper, or anything to create a base for your moss. I used rocks from a craft store to fill mine because I wanted to be able to add my moss to more pots and the rocks take up space.

3. Add moss on top

Then cap your pot off with some lovely moss to create a perfect earthy winter plant. You can use real or faux moss, I used this faux moss here! I loved the coloring of this one because it looked the most natural to me. If you want you could probably hot glue your moss into the pots but I just stuffed it in so I can reuse these pots for other things later on.

It’s as easy as that. These are a super easy DIY to add a fun touch to any shelf or vignette. Moss is a great type of greenery to bring into your home in the winter months! If you are looking for more DIY projects I have a bunch of great options over here on the blog. Thank you so much for stopping by, be sure to tag me on Facebook or Instagram if you make this DIY!
