Happy September! It’s officially time for my fall decor posts. We have a magazine coming out to the house this week & they are photographing for a fall issue. Which means we are adding touches of fall to our entire home… so I decided to share a few of my tips for adding simple touches of fall to your space! With each of these tips I shared the area I styled using the tip but these can be applied to any room in your home.
Tip 1: Style your outdoor area with mums & ornamental kale! I love picking these in colors that fit the overall vibe I am going for some years it has been yellow, orange, or pink. Mums come in a variety of colors and add an extra fall touch outside aside from pumpkins and gords!
Tip 2: Consider texture when cozying up your space for fall. Here I added so many different elements each with a different texture & together they all equal cozy. For this exact mantel I layered pumpkins, books, dried grass, demijohn bottles, and mirror.
Tip 3: Keep stepping back and playing with all the items. Move them around, take some away, & add some until you like it! Extra tip: Take a photo of the vignette or the entire space. A photo doesn’t lie and is less forgiving than your naked eye.
Tip 4: Think of a color story for each space to make decorating more simple. Here I went with simple greens to give garden vibes! But maybe you want your color story to be warmer colors or even a mix. Consider your color story while styling each space, going shopping for fall decor, & making planning your holiday decor easier.
Tip 5: Add one large pumpkin to your normal centerpiece to bring fall in the space, it doesn’t need to be complicated to be fall. I went with a real white pumpkin here for a subtle touch but you could do an orange or green pumpkin as well! One pumpkin on a table can be your call decor. It doesn’t have to be tons of garland and leaves to be fall. It can be a simple pumpkin and be cozy.
I can’t wait to share more fall decor posts with you guys! Fall is one of my favorite seasons and whether you are ready to decorate right now or waiting a little longer I hope this inspires you.
