Movement Mortgage, a national top 10 retail mortgage lender, is excited to announce the addition of Market Leader Michelle Banning to the Indianapolis, Indiana market. Banning will be based out of Fishers, a popular suburb.
Banning brings nearly a decade of experience to the Movement Mortgage team. Starting as a loan closer at Homestead Title in Columbus, Ohio, Banning soon transitioned to Mortgage Loan Originator at Victory Mortgage. In 2016, she transferred to Indiana to revitalize the Indianapolis office.
Before being promoted to Origination Manager, Banning was Victory’s Loan Officer of the Year in 2018, having brought in $ 36 million in volume with 97% positive customer service ratings. She bested that in 2019 with $ 46.6 million in volume and 98% positive ratings. After lifting Indianapolis to the Victory’s top-performing office, Banning also took on managing the Columbus, OH, and Louisville, KY offices in 2020. She joined Movement Mortgage at the beginning of 2021.
For Banning, relationships are the cornerstone of her personal and professional life. “My college degree is in Social Work with a Sociology Minor,” says Banning, “which is where my passion for relationships and respecting every individual, no matter the situation, came from.”
This perspective is what Banning sees in Movement and what helped her make the switch. “You truly do not know the battle a person is fighting. It sounds cliché but so true,” Banning says. “Kindness is the vessel to deliver love, and that’s the foundation of Movement Mortgage. I chose Movement for many reasons. However, when the mission of your employer aligns with your personal passion, the opportunity feels like a gift!”
Banning will continue to serve the Indianapolis market and report to Regional Director Chris Shelton. “We are very excited to welcome Michelle to the Movement family,” says Shelton.
“We feel her work ethic and personality is a perfect complement for the growth we are currently experiencing in the Midwest. We’re confident Michelle will help grow our expansion in the greater Indy market.”
When not helping families get into new homes in Indiana, Banning (NMLS #1279722) enjoys reading, music, boating, and – of course – sunsets. She’s a big fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Chicago Cubs. Banning’s other job is being a single mom to three teenagers: Cole, Jenna and Drew, who will be joining the U.S. Navy in April.
