How To Decorate for The 4th Of July

Happy July Friends!! The Fourth of July is one holiday that I feel like always sneaks up on me. So I wanted to share a few of my tips for simple ways to decorate for the 4th of July. I truly feel like you don’t need to go overboard to feel festive & that simple is better for this holiday. So I gathered all of my best tips and put them in this blog post to help you prepare for any celebrations you may be having this year!!

Antiques

One of my favorite ways to decorate for the 4th of July is to incorporate it into my antiques! I have a few antique flags so I always love to bring those out around the summer months. But if you don’t have antique flags you can use your flags & style them into your antique decor! I typically would style the flag as a layer in a vignette and then style my antique decor in front of & around the flag.

Dining Area

The dining area is the perfect place to add your patriotic decor. Whether you are creating a tablescape or setting up the buffet, I love adding a touch of decor to both! This tablescape is super simple to recreate … grab a few jars fill them with flags & place in the center of the table, for each place setting I used these simple blue and white napkins, and added fresh cherries for a touch of red! I love using our antique bunting for the backdrop to the buffet set up. I simply hung this by the table we setup for the food & it immediately felt festive!

Porch Decor

I feel like porch decor is one of the easier spots to decorate for Independence Day! You can go as simple as hanging a flag from the front porch to setting up a festive seating area. I feel like there are so many great outdoor pillows for the 4th of July … I love picking them up whenever I find a good one [if you couldn’t tell I’m a huge throw pillow fan]!

Red, White, & Blue DIY Project

Maybe you just want to add a some red, white, and blue to your porch or indoor decor, but you don’t have any decor read? This easy DIY project is super simple & you can customize the size & more for your home. You can see the full tutorial for this DIY flag decor [HERE]. You can also see a TON more red, white, & blue decor [HERE] if you want more inspiration!

Subtle Touch

Something that can feel a little bit intimidating about decorating for the 4th of July is feeling like you need a lot of decor. However, I would say I tend to pick just a few items that are actual 4th of July decor (flags, bunting, etc) and incorporate it into my everyday decor! I would also bring out any decor I have already that has either red or blue in it and use that in my decor. This typically includes throw pillows & blankets, tea towels, napkins, placemats, and jars or vases! Changing up the words on your chalkboard, letter board, or lightbox that you already have is a great way to add a festive touch without having to buy new decor.

I hope this post gives you some inspiration for your 4th of July decorating!! Stay tuned for my blog post on the best 4th of July sales coming later this week. Thank you for stopping by the blog today and every day, it means SO much to me.
