How to decorate for Christmas with only two items

Are you looking to decorate on a budget? Or do you really like going all out in one of your spaces, but feel the house is just disconnected. This is how you can decorate for Christmas with only a few items to keep your home cohesive for Christmas, without spending a lot of money and energy in every room your house. Take a look at our mantel for inspiration.

The Christmas specific decor I brought into this space were two different paper garlands and three white knit stockings. Garlands are a great addition to longer spaces like shelves and mantels, because it bringing in texture to the vignette while also filling and balancing the space. In the inspiration we used two strands of white paper garland, loosely strong across the top to fill in as much space at the top as possible. But the beauty of this post and this look is that you can use things you already have. You do not need to go out and purchase new items. Mixing green garlands, mixing paper Christmas items, mixing garlands and ornaments… use what you have!

Stockings were another add to this space, to help define it as a Christmas look. Another soft texture, and it helps moves the eyes around. Just off camera we have a Christmas tree with some presents underneath. If you follow the room. from lift to right, you start at the tree, move your way up the stockings across the mantel to your focal point. We have a few extra sets of stockings, apart from our main stockings, so we utilize them here on the mantel, to allow for them to shine this holiday season too. A little tip, for decorative stockings, fill them with crinkled up newspaper or some form linens to give them a little more structure. These stockings are from Anthropologie, you can find them here.

On top of our Christmas items, we need a strong anchor. We brought back our lovely little antique deer find, to bring in the winter vibes, while also creating a focal point for the room. Other great anchors for this time of year are wreathes, wintery-art, and you can never go wrong with a large mirror.

And just like that you have a very subtle little Christmas look, that was nice on the budget, and you didn’t have to spend a weekend putting it together and cleaning up storage boxes. I hope you like this little inspirational, and how to tie your spaces together with only a few items. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today and every other day. It truly means the world to us.
