You may have noticed in recent images that we have been making several kitchen updates. I have been wanting to do some updates to our cozy kitchen for quite some time now and we have finally started making them happen! I’ll be sharing more over the next couple of weeks. For now, I wanted to share a small shop that I have found to be so unique and a great addition to our cozy kitchen updates. I wanted to find some lights for our kitchen that looked like they could have been here for many years & that also had that handmade look, well what better than a handmade light to do that job for us? I found these handmade clay lights on Etsy & instantly fell in love with the natural white clay finish with the pop of brass…
Clay Cafe is a shop that I have recently discovered on Etsy. They create ceramic light fixtures that are made to order. Each light is unique because they are all made by hand on a potters wheel. Because of this, have patience with shipping as they take a while to make.
I purchased these Farmhouse wall sconces for above the sink in our kitchen and also for near our kitchen door. If you take a look at the Clay Cafe shop, you will notice that there are many different options for sconces. 3 Farmhouse sconces that can be hardwired. The two that we chose to mount near the door can be plugged into an outlet.
I will be back with a more complete kitchen look, but since these lights are handmade and the shop often closes I wanted to give you guys the light source. I hope you guys love when I share sources from our home like this and that you find it helpful!
A note about Beadboard
In the images shared you will see that we decided to switch from horizontal shiplap to vertical bead-board. I thought it would look better visually & this past summer we had already started replacing shiplap in the front of our home with the headboard. For some places in our home, we have started to add bead-board for more texture on a small scale. As we originally had shiplap on the wall, we just added beadboard over it. This helps the beadboard attach to something. If you intend to add beadboard to your walls, you may need to add some pieces of wood underneath for something to the board to adhere to.
As the kitchen updates progress, I will continue to share more. I hope you find these handmade farmhouse lights to be as special as I think they are. To have something that is handmade and has a long process of creation in my home feels so special. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today!! xx
