Eclectic Cozy Christmas Tree

You know when you get an idea in your head & you can’t wait any longer you just have to do it? Well that’s how I felt about decorating our Christmas tree! When I first started decorating for Christmas I thought I wanted all bare trees this year, just a simple strand of lights without any ornaments or garland. But I started looking at Christmas posts from last year and decided I wanted to add some ornaments to one of my trees! So late last night Jose & I decked out our Christmas tree and I wanted to share that on the blog with you. If you are looking for a fun date night, I highly recommend tuning out the world & decorating the tree with your significant other, or just make it a solo date night and have some fun!

This tree is in our front living room by our fireplace and originally had just a simple strand of lights on it. I love the look of Christmas trees with lights on them so I was really happy with this for a while! But when I looked through posts from last year I felt a little bit like the grinch to not have ornaments on any of our trees. So of course, after we put Copey down for bed we put on some Christmas music & decked out our Christmas tree!

For our garland, we used chunky yarn and wrapped that around the tree, you can find that at any craft store. Then we cut up little bits of ribbon & placed those throughout the tree, it was a black and white ribbon I got last year. We have these super cute remote powered clip-on lights, that are meant to look like candlesticks that we placed all throughout the tree. Finally, we added in all of the ornaments. Can’t lie we may have gone a little overboard with the ornaments but I figure if you are going to add ornaments to your tree might as well go all out!

There is something so magical about creating a cozy christmas tree that represents what you love about the holiday season. These could be sentimental ornaments or themed ornaments whichever makes you feel cozy for the holiday season! Hopefully this shows you a little bit more about me … Basically that not everything around here is a plan sometimes its just a random idea popped into my head! Haha. And that it’s not too late to add some cozy christmas decor, if it will make you happy go for it!
