Butler Pantry Sources

We’ve made some progress in the butler’s pantry & I wanted to give you guys a little update here on the blog. If you’ve been following along you know this has been a slow project. Somethings got put on hold during the shutdown and others got delayed but we are making progress. One big step is that we have officially transitioned all of our pantry items now into the butler’s pantry.

Refrigerator

In the pantry, we wanted to have an extra refrigerator for additional storage! We are still keeping our smeg refrigerator in our kitchen and absolutely love that fridge. I thought about getting a smeg for in here but ultimately decided it wasn’t in the budget. So I decided to get the Classic Retro Refrigerator in Marshmallow White from Wayfair, here. I love the retro look of this fridge and it was on sale for only $ 800, which was a lot more on budget compared to a $ 3,000 smeg fridge. To be honest with you guys I can tell a difference in quality though. The smeg is larger and the overall quality is a lot nicer, you can see and feel the quality difference between the two. However, I think for $ 800 it definitely is workable for us!

Microwave

I think one of my most frequently asked questions is if we have a microwave and where do we keep it! We definitely have a microwave and use it frequently. For a while we kept it on a shelf in our island, then we moved it by the indoor grill in our kitchen, but now our microwave has its own spot in the pantry. I wanted the microwave to be easily hidden, so we built the cabinets in the pantry to be able to hold the microwave. We store our microwave in the cabinet right next to the fridge.

Small shop love

You guys know I love my small shops! I always like to incorporate small shops into my spaces. Many of my antique piece sin here are from small shops, thrift stores, and flea markets that you can see a list of at the bottom of this post, but three shops I want to give a shoutout here are: Elsie Green [HERE] Where I got my glass containers in this space from, Heirloom art co. [HERE] where I got the artwork from, & Maple House Co. [HERE] where I got the brushes & soaps from.

Sink

Our sink is from Elkay, here! This is the same sink we have in our kitchen and is my favorite. I’ve used the Elkay Fireclay Farmhouse sink in our kitchen for years & had it in our previous home as well. I highly recommend this sink, if you are interested check out my full review here.

Small appliances

You guys know that I love my Smeg appliances. I moved my collection in here since opening up this butler pantry & it’s been amazing. You can see our Smeg Appliances [HERE].

Faucet

I got our faucet from Elkay as well, I love Elkay products & the unique look of this faucet! The faucet comes in three different colors. We decided to go with the chrome finish for the sink in the butler pantry. If you are interested here is the exact model info for the faucet, Elkay LKEC2037CR Three Hole Bridge Faucet with Pull-down Spray and Lever Handles.

Tile

On the laundry side of our butler pantry, we added floor-to-ceiling tiles! I knew I really wanted to have tile in the butler pantry but it can be super expensive to find good marble tiles. I found these tiles on an incredible deal & had to try them for myself. They work great, I would highly recommend checking them out if you are looking for tile. We decided to go with carra white marble tile, link here. The Stone Center Online has so many great tile options for a super affordable price, I highly recommend their tiles.

Cabinets & Counter

Our cabinets and counters were built and installed by Westerbrink Builders and the materials are all from West Michigan Lumber. The cabinets are custom built by Westerbrink Builders to fit our pantry. We wanted the pantry to be able to stay looking really clean so we wanted cabinets instead of shelves. We felt like this was the best way to maximize storage in this space, we use it for pantry items, kitchen appliances, cleaning supplies, and more! The counters are pine boards. We installed the counters next to the sink and on both sides of the laundry machines. To give them the look we wanted Jose used a pickling stain on the pine & then sealed it with a wax coat. We wanted to live with these for a little bit before sharing, but they have worked great, and we will be sharing a DIY on the blog soon!

Step Ladder

I am pretty short & since this room is smaller our storage goes pretty high in here so I needed a step ladder that would work as hard as me in this space. I chose [This one] & I use it every single day. It is so slim when it folds up & lightweight so I can move it across the room as needed, yet it’s very sturdy. I highly recommend it!

Hardware

Our cabinets finally have hardware! If you’ve ever had cabinets without hardware on them you can relate to how excited I am to be able to open these like normal. It is so nice to have our hardware on and finally start to see the vision I had for the butler’s pantry coming to life. We got all of the hardware from Battle Creek Hardware [HERE]! I was a little impatient and ordered their black hardware and spray painted it this brassy gold color. They do have the hardware in gold but when I wanted to place my order it was out of stock. I love the quality and the price of their hardware so I didn’t mind taking this extra step to spray paint them!

Lighting

Our light fixtures might be one of my favorite parts of the room. If you didn’t know this room gets no natural light because there are no windows in this space. So it was really important to me that we have good lighting in here! You can find these light fixtures here. These were a little bit of a splurge item, if you are looking for something similar at a lower price head over here.

Shelving

Above the washer and dryer I have a shelf that we installed ourselves into the tile wall. It’s actually a bunch of smaller shelves pieced together to make one big shelf. The shelf is 4 of these pieces from [HERE] & these brackets [HERE]. I’ve used these multiple times elsewhere in our home & they are such great quality & come in different sizes.

Laundry Bins

These steel canvas laundry bins provide the perfect vintage touch to our laundry room. I love that they have wheels on them so they will be super easy to move around. I got two of the laundry baskets and have cabinets on both sides of the laundry machines that they will slide into! They also come in different colors if you want something a little different for your laundry room.

Antiques

It wouldn’t be a room in our home without some antiques mixed in. Here is a little list of antique items you can find in this space: The rug, the baskets on the fridge, the soap container, the glass jugs, the scale, the mirror, candlesticks, & wooden spoons.

Whew! That was quite the update & I am so excited with the progress we’ve made in this space. I know I will have more updates coming soon so be sure to stay tuned. Thank you for stopping by the blog today and every day, it means the world to me.
