Antique Dutch Table

I’m so excited to share this antique find I am in love with! We had a massive 12ft dining table for a few years and it was great for hosting large gatherings but when I realized that we would no longer be having large gatherings this year I decided I wanted something a bit smaller for our home. The massive dining table was also super hard to move around the house, so when I found this new dining table I knew it would be a great swap. One of my favorite stores to shop for antiques and vintage items online, Dreamy Whites, listed this gorgeous antique dutch table and I knew it would be perfect!

The dining table originates back to the Netherlands in the 1800’s! Fun fact: My grandparents are first generation Americans from the Netherlands, more reason I loved that this table originated there as well. I love the simplicity of the table & the smaller size works great for this space. Since the front room is massive we turned it into both a living space and dining area. The antique dutch table works perfect in the space and I love the way the combination of wood & white in this room!

The table has some really unique features that I love. It is a pine table which is my favorite type of wood. The table is super worn in and you can really tell it has been around for hundreds of years. It actually has two drawers on one side of the table, it could work great as a desk if I decided to repurpose it in the future! One thing I plan to do in the future is to add casters to the bottom of the table. It will bring the height up a little bit and add another authentic vintage touch to the table.

I discovered Dreamy Whites about a year ago and absolutely fell in love with the company. The shop is filled with so many gorgeous things. She has antiques, linens, market baskets, ironstone, french paintings, and more! I’ve picked up so many gorgeous things from her over this past year and knew I needed to share a whole post dedicated to this incredible antique table she had. Her style matches mine perfectly and honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything you find at their shop!

I’ll be sharing more tablescapes and cozy dining spaces with this table in the future! I hope you enjoyed hearing a little more about the story behind the table. You can see more about these lights hanging in this space [HERE]. Stay tuned for more soon. Thank you for stopping by the blog today and every day.
