Here are some of the latest Tall House Updates. First up: We had the Lacanche Range tuned. The term for a range (oven+stove) in French is piano, so getting it tuned makes sense. : ) We also had the chrome details replaced with brass details.
Next up, a report on the kitchen sink getting lowered so that it will hit below the countertop. Plus, you can see Oscar’s room all painted (it’s gorgeous!), Betty’s built-in cupboard painted, and wall prep in Flora June’s room.
This series has a report on the radiators, information about our smaller-than-usual dishwasher, and more prep in Flora June’s room.
Here’s a peek inside the dishwasher (except I forgot to show the very top rack that’s designed for silverware), a window update, and I talk about how we’re looking for a new plumbing team.
We’re making progress each day, which feels great. But until we get a new plumbing team, there’s a LOT being held up. I’m doing my best to be patient and moving the word forward wherever I can. It will all work out. Have you ever needed to replace a team mid-project?
P.S. — More Tall House updates.
P.P.S. — I’m having a week where I’m really hard on myself. Not sure why — I think I hit a pandemic wall. You too? But it doesn’t help to be hard on myself! It doesn’t make me more productive! It just makes me feel rotten. It’s 5:15 PM in France. I think I’m going to call it a day and go watch Pride and Prejudice — it’s like my comfort food movie. If you need one, I hope you get a break today, too.
