Under the stairs with Harry Potter

Even though there are only a few days left into the spooky season, it isn’t too late to have a little fun with this under the stairs Harry Potter look. I purchased these Harry Potter floating candles from Pottery Barn. I looked for the perfect little place to put them… and what better place to pay homage to Mr. Potter, than underneath the staircase.

Our plans for an exact Harry Potter look went out the window a little bit, but we decided to make a super simple neutral look & use our floating candles to our advantage. The candles came ready to be hung with a pre-installed fishing line and clear rubber band to be attached to the hooks. There is a little cable with hooks to attach your candles easily to where you’d like to hang them. They also come with a remote that allows you to turn the candles on, off, and a six hour timer. Using 3M strips you could opt out of using the cable if you wanted to spread out the placement a little more.

We loved how this floating lights fill-in this little space. Not only is it very Harry Pottery-like, we love how its just the subtle little touch of halloween, floating about these little pumpkins on this bench. Cope didn’t see us put this up, so it was fun to surprise him. We brought him to the bench and Winnie joined us. It took a few moments of us pointing up before he found them… and him and Winnie thought they were so captivating.

While Cope and Winnie save the pumpkins and make the great escape. These creepy spiders made their way into the corner… again very Harry Potter, right? These fun little spiders are from target, and they are super fun and super spooky. The legs bend to how you want, you have to get a little creative with how to hang them on from the ceiling. We used fish line to get them where we wanted them on the ceiling and wall, as well as 3M strips to keep the legs placed on the wall.

I am generally new to the halloween and spooky decor, having Cope around really opens up my imagination on creating fun little spaces for him too. I look forward to the years ahead, making fun little spooky spaces and hopefully have him join in on the fun. I hope you all are having a fantastic fall decorating season, and found some fun little spooky inspiration here on the blog. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today and every other day.
