10 Ways To Style A Coffee Table

We all want our homes to be cozy & that means something different to each of us. To me cozy is all five of my senses being at peace at once! I strive to make our home feel cozy for my family & am always sharing my tips with you guys to help you make your home feel cozy! During this time many of us are spending more time in our homes & so many of you have asked me to share even more tips on how to make your home cozy. Our budgets, our jobs, and our lifestyles may look different from normal and even different from each other but I still hope you can find some part of this helpful to you in your current situation!

When it comes to making your home cozy the number one question I get asked is … Where do I start? I really recommend starting with reduce, reuse, & repurpose! This is tip #9 in my book Cozy White Cottage, if you have my book I highly recommend reading that tip along with this blog post! The best place to start when making your home cozy is to use what you already have by reducing, reusing, and repurposing items within your home.

Reduce – Get rid of all the stuff you don’t love anymore or that doesn’t serve your family. I like starting with a fresh start, I like clearing an entire room, and taking out all the decor and start fresh. It helps me to get a clean slate before I style part of our home and allows me to visualize the space in a different way. When you reduce you can sell the items you don’t love or don’t need anymore. Whether you choose to sell items now or wait till you feel more comfortable selling things I highly recommend removing the items that don’t serve a purpose in the space anymore.

Reuse – Bringing items into a new space that you already own gives the items a whole new look & refreshes the space. We don’t always need to purchase new things instead we can reuse something we already own. Use what you already have in a new spot in your home to bring the cozy factor into that space!

Repurpose – My love language is repurposing. Repurpose pieces around your home & get super creative with this step. For example, an entryway table might be able to be repurposed as a sofa table. Or maybe you take that dresser out of your bedroom, repaint it, and use it in your living room instead! I often find myself repainting an item and putting it in a new room and falling back in love with the piece all over again.

Today on Instagram stories I walked you guys through using these principles to style my coffee table as an example. I shopped my house for items that were being used in other spaces or that weren’t being used at all & I repurposed some items that we already owned as well. Here are a few ways I styled our coffee table to hopefully offer you a ton of inspiration and also to show how shopping your home can really refresh your spaces:

A lot of us are spending more time at home and are itchinyle mg to make our homes feel cozier for ourselves and our families. I hope that every day on the blog and Instagram I can give you inspiration for making your home feel cozy. I use this tip of reducing, reusing, repurposing every single day that I am decorating and styling our home. My hope is that you can find ways to do this within your own space as well!
